Today is Wednesday, March 16 and we are starting to prepare for our trip to Florida.  The anticipation is starting to boil over as we drool over the fact that we might be able to see warm weather in just a few days.

We got up early on Thurday, March 17.  I had gotten up earlier in the wee hours of the morning and packed the car.  We were on the road by 6:15.  The drive that day was uneventful.  We stayed in Forsyth GA for the evening.  The weather was pleasant and we were starting to feel the comfort of the South.  For supper, we ate at a Shoney’s we they were having an all you could eat buffett.  The ribs were the sweetest ribs that I had ever eaten.  The waitress also recommended the baked beans.  I was a little apprehensive but gave in.  They too were real sweet and didn’t have very much back-fire.

The next morning, we woke to a pleasant warm southern morning.  After having breakfast and loading the car, we took a few pictures of the area around the hotel

We arrived at Glenn and LLew’s house (Ranch) about 5:00.  Llew had a pot roast ready for us when we arrived.  It smelled good but we wanted to walk around the ranch to see what all they had done since we were there last.  The newest addition to their inventory were these three minature Brahma Bulls.  I will have to admit, they were cute.

Glenn has always taken good care of his vehicles.  Below is a picture of the van that he uses for work.  I forget what year it is but you can tell by the looks, it is nice.

You hear stories and read in books about drivers who put many miles on their vehicles, and this is one of them.  It boggles my mind that any vehicle could go this far without falling apart, but this is one of those.  Look at the mileage on his van.

Sunday morning, I woke up really refreshed. The morning air was crisp and foggy. Peaceful and tranquil are some words that come to mind. I decided to go for a walk before the sun came out and took all of the beauty away. The first thing that I saw was one of Llew’s horses in the pasture. It looked as if he were waiting for Llew to come and feed him some goodies.

Below are some picture that I took while walking around the pasture and around the farm. The first is of the lane that leads up to their house and barn. The next is a wild lilly that I found growing in the pasture. Next is the blooms on a dogwood tree starting to bloom. A single oak tree with spanish moss hanging from it grows in the middle of one of the pastures. Glenn and Llew are standing outside their home all dressed up for church. And the last is a picture of Bruce trying on a pair of Glenn’s boots. As you can see, I don’t think that I could ever fill his boots.

The time with Glenn and Llew was just too short.  We are so grateful that many years ago, God allowed our paths to cross and our friendship to continue.  Thanks Glenn and Llew.

We left Glen and Llew’s house Sunday afternoon for our three hour drive to the East Coast.  We were going to spend the rest of the week with Gary and Pat Hall.  The drive was uneventful but the weather was fantastic.

Upon arriving at Indialantic, we were greeted by Pat and Gary outside of their condo.
