Friday Oct 14

Friday morning saw Pop up bright and early.  I started the bacon in the frying pan as Chad got ready for his morning run.

He took off for his run and Brock and I sat down to a Webb Cabin breakfast of bacon, eggs, and toast made by putting two forks in a piece of bread and holding it over the fire.  It wasn’t the best piece of toast that I have had but it did the job.

Chad got back from his run just as we were finishing our breakfast so we decided to go over to an Amish saw mill.  On the way, we started following this Amish buggy.

Since we were in no hurry, we just stayed back and took our time.  On the way to the mill, we came across this old house.  It must have been something in it’s day because it was so large.

We found the mill and there were just some young boys running it.

They said they would charge us $7.00 for a bundle of wood.  Chad filled up his truck and we took it back to the cabin to cut up in smaller pieces.  Here is a picture of Chad’s truck with the long slabs hanging out.

The  boys then took my truck and picked up the rest of the wood.  After all of the wood had been cut, we loaded some in Chad’s truck to take to our house and I stacked the rest next to the cabin for when I went home.  Here are some pictures of the wood.

Chad brought all kinds of meat to the cabin so he decided to smoke it.  Here he is getting the smoker all ready.

Here is the meat on the smoker cooking.

Joe, Mary Ann, and Seth came by for a visit.  They brought their Ranger and decided to leave is for us to ride the next day.  Here is a picture of Brock hanging out of it.
