5:00 a.m. came way too early on Sunday morning, the day that my brother Dwayne and I would be heading to the Webb cabin for my yearly week retreat.  This would mark my 20th year and I would have the privilege of celebrating it with my bro.  It was after midnight before I got into bed so I was pretty spaced out.  Dwayne was already up dressed.  We were going to try and make it to church in Marion and we had to be there by 9:30.  By my calculations, we wouldn’t make it.  We hit the road and headed South.

Dwayne just had to bring his electronic toys along and I figured he would be talking on the phone the whole time that he would be down here.  I think while he is sleeping tonight, I just might step on his phone and break it.

We made it to church while they were singing the first song.  We both had a terrible time staying awake because of lack of sleep.  After church, we headed to the cabin.  Here is a picture of Dwayne opening up the gate.  I told him that he was in charge of the opening and closing of the gate and cabin doors.

Ahhh, the cabin.  I just love the sight of it.

Joe, Mary Ann, and Seth came by this afternoon with their Ranger and 4 wheeler.  They took us on a tour throught the Shawnee Forest and up to the old home place.

When we got to the farm, I wanted to show Dwayne the old cistern.  It has some great water.  This is what it looks like looking down into it.  This was hand dug for the families water during the 30s through the present.

Here is a picture of all of us standing in front of the Ranger.

Here are some shots of the trees and other objects in the pasture around the farm.

After we got back to the cabin, we had a fish fry.  Joe cooked the fish.  He always does an excellent job.  From now on, he is the designated cooker.

After Joe, Mary Ann, and Seth left, Dwayne and I crashed into bed.

Good night John Boy.
