Monday morning and Dwayne is up early having his devotions.
While Dwayne is getting his devotions done, I started breakfast which consisted of beacon, eggs, toast, milk, and orange juice.
This is my new toaster. It does a somewhat surprisingly good job. We slapped a bunch of butter on the toast to better help our diet.
Here is Dwayne and I eating the fruits of our labor. Yum Yum.
Well, it didn’t take very long for Dwayne’s breakfast to run it’s course. Off he goes to the library.
After breakfast, I decided to take Dwayne for a drive to some of the areas around the cabin. The first place we visited was the old Jug Spring that is located just South of Dutchman Lake. I used to come to this spring to get water for us while we stayed at the cabin. The forestry people have place a steel cage around it now so no one can get inside and disturb the bats that live inside.
This is some of the countryside just South of the cabin.
This old house has always intrigued me. I try to imagine that family that used to live there and all of the hard work that it took to build and maintain it.
After lunch, I took Dwayne up to the old Feed Bluff that is located North of the old home place, (farm). The following are some pictures of that bluff.
As I crawled inside of this cave, I saw some tracks that made me a little skittish. Look at these tracks and tell me what you think they are of.
As we were hiking through the woods to get back to the Ranger for the ride home, we came across this little character.
The trees are in their full blown fall colors this week. These are some trees about 1 mile north of the cabin.
Our friends, Ken and Nina Hall came for supper and fellowship this evening. We all had a good time.
We had home made chicken noodle soup, chocolate pie, and peach cobbler. I think we might have a difficult time sleeping tonight. Good night John Boy.
